I've been meaning for some time to do an in-depth 4 panel mosaic (with >10 hour per panel) of Eta Carina nebula with my APM 130/780 LZOS... weather has been against it, but finally managed to get enough lights to keep around 48hours good ones in total and failry evenly across the panels (maybe one falling a little shy of 11 hours and the rest a bit over 12 hrs.)

And here it is. I'm including two processings with slightly different palettes as I cant choose between them - both stacked and mosacied layers created in APP, recombined and proecssed in Startools and then varying blends of stars isolated using Starexterminator and Difference to original - most finishing processing in PS done on the starless and stars added after using linear add.

The differences between the two options here come from the processing in Startools.

The original here I binned at 50% so has slightly lesser finer detail (in the main) than the second version binned at 70%. In reality I see parts of each I prefer so offering up both - let me know in comments which you prefer and why?

This has been my biggest project to date and think it might be a while before I tackle another mosaic... a lot of fussiness landing on right settings for the mosaic layers to appear seamelessly in APP ...once reached it's easy enough. Going full frame might be easier ;-)

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
